A step back...

• The Bluetooth application layer is split up into profiles

• For example: file transfer (OBEX), serial port, headset, synchronisation

• Device::Ericsson::AccessoryMenu uses the serial port profile (or IrDA, or cable connection)

• None of the current profiles have positioning / proximity functions, so we need to use a lower level protocol
